Abbeydorney and Ballyduff played out a typical championship game in ASP last Saturday evening before a small attendance of hurling supporters. Abbeydorney played with a lot of heart and just came up short on a scoreline of Ballyduff 0.13 Abbeydorney 0.12.Perhaps a noteworthy aspect of the game was the performance of the sharpshooters on both sides Ballyduff’s Padraig Boyle accounted for 8 of his sides scores six from frees and two from play whilst Abbeydorney’s Nigel Roche was responsible for six of his sides scores four from frees and two from play. In fact the Boyle brothers accounted for 12 of Ballyduff’s scores with David Goulding the other to raise a white flag. Abeydorney’s other scores came from James OConnor 0.3, David Egan, Ronan Donovan, Brian O Leary a point each. Abbeydorney go on now to meet Ballyheigue in a make or break game in ASP next Sunday at 1.45 pm.
